PROFESSIONAL CODE & WORK METHOD
I work in accordance with the professional codes of the Dutch Association of Pedagogues and Educationalists (NVO) and am registered with the Foundation for the Quality Register Youth (SKJ). These comprehensive professional codes safeguard my professional ethics and provide a complaints procedure. They also serve as a guide to consult in case of questions or uncertainties in practicing my profession. For more information, please visit the NVO website. I have a master-level University degree (WO) and work with both youth and adults. My approach is based on evolutionary and developmental psychology, attachment, and context, focusing on patterns that often originate in pregnancy and/or early childhood and continue into adulthood. My expertise lies in developmental, behavioral, and change-related issues that span the lifespan and are not limited by age.
FEES & REIMBURSEMENT
Through your insurance
Itβs advisable to check your insurance coverage beforehand. In the Netherlands, master-level educationalists and behavioral scientists are usually not reimbursed through the basic health insurance. With international, expat, or travel insurance, coverage may differ: some insurers reimburse coaching or psychological support provided by master-trained professionals, provided certain registration requirements are met.
Through your employer
Sometimes reimbursement may also be available via your employer, for example when coaching or guidance is part of professional development, stress prevention, or personal growth. This varies by organization, so itβs best to check with HR or your manager.
VAT-exemptions
My services for children, families and individual support are VAT-free under the Dutch law. If you, your employer or insurer covers the cost, they will pay only the service fee, no VAT is added. Please note that strategic behavioral advice are subject to VAT.
HEALTH ADVICE STATEMENT
My expertise lies in behavioral aspects β how lifestyle, environment, development, and intergenerational factors affect our health and wellbeing. I am not a medical professional and do not provide advice on medical issues. For medical concerns, I strongly recommend consulting a licensed healthcare provider. My work focuses on supporting individuals and/or families with insights into how behavior and environment influence health, and providing supportive practices that can complement, but not replace, medical care. Questions? Please feel free to contact me.
WKGGZ
The Healthcare Quality, Complaints, and Disputes Act (Wkkgz) came into effect in 2016. If you have a complaint, I kindly ask that you first contact me as your practitioner. Hopefully, we can resolve it together. If desired, an independent complaints officer can be involved. They can support you in formulating your complaint and finding solutions. As a client, you have the right for the practitioner to be informed. My practice is registered with www.erisietsmisgegaan.nl, a government-recognized institution compliant with the Wkkgz. This ensures independent handling of your complaint.
